Working Papers
- Maurseth, Per Botolf, Hege Medin (2012). Market specific fixed and sunk export costs: The impact of learning and spillovers . NUPI Working Paper: 803. 65 pages. This paper provides evidence for market specific sunk export costs by investigating Norwegian seafood exporters’ persistence in different export markets. Having exported to a market last year doubles the probability of exporting this year. There is also evidence for learning effects and for spillovers effects from other firms on export costs.
- Maurseth, Per Botolf, Svensson, Roger (2012). International patenting. NUPI Working Paper: 800. 39 pages. International patenting is increasing in importance. In this article, Mauseth and Svennsson indicate that the propensity to apply for international patent protection increases with indicators of the value of the invention, indictors of technological rivalry, and market size in the markets where patent applications are submitted.
- Maurseth, Per Botolf (2010). Trade and growth – again. NUPI Working Paper: 771. 23 pages. The paper discusses effects of trade policy on economic growth. The results indicate that high tariff rates on manufactured goods reduce economic growth, while there are no such effects from protection of argicultural goods.
