Heidi Kjærnet
Working with Ph. D. thesis with the working title: ”Petroleum, politics and power: The cases of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Russia”. The project analyses the relationship between state petroleum companies and their state owners in the three countries.
Engaged in the projects: Flammable societies; Russian energy research and innovation: Prospects for cooperation on renewables and efficiency and Afghanistan and regional instability: A riskassessment.
As a student scholar in the same department she wrote a master thesis on Azerbaijan's foreign policy strategy, focusing on economics and bilateral relations with Russia after the fall of the Soviet Union and the use of energy resources as a power resource in these relations for the Russia Studies Programme, University of Oslo, which she finished in May 2007.
