NUPI 50 years in 2009
The Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) was founded in 1959 after a resolution passed by the Storting. Thus, it is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2009. We are planning a series of events during the course of the year. The initiation of the anniversary year was marked by a large-scale international conference in Oslo 21 January 2009 entitled: A Brave New Order – Multipolar Conflict or Multilateral Cooperation? with persentations by Kofi Annan, Jeffrey Sachs, Lakhdar Brahimi and Sergey A. Karaganov.
In addition, NUPI will organise a series of large and small seminars, marking book and journal releases and participating in public debate.
