The report looks at the gradual expansion of the meaning and the use, today far beyond the original, of the term “crisis management” since its coining in the early 1960s. The implications of the early ideas of crisis management relative to the Norwegian national security planning are subject to closer scrutiny, as is also the actual influence from the subsequent and greatly expanded concept on such planning and on its scope in terms of partakers and matters involved.
