Current research

Working on the project Revisiting a Lebanese militia. The project is a follow up of several studies carried out among combatants of the militia of the Kataëb party and the Lebanese Forces. These included both military and civilian actors, men and women. The focus is on civil-military relations during and after the war; reasons to take up arms and later to leave them; women’s roles both as combatants and in support functions; the reintegration of the combatants, both women and men. When adequate for the analysis a gender perspective will be used.
