The project addresses how protection as mandated by the UNSC through its resolutions is translated into protecting women and children in refugee camps in Chad in the context of the MINURCAT operation.

Focus is given the relationship between the Protection of Civilians agenda and the provisions addressing women and children in conflict, the extent to which these are seen as interrelated and whether they match up to the requirements of the wider International Humanitarian Law (IHL) framework.

Furthermore, the project deals with the challenges faced by actors in the field when implementing UNSC protection mandates designated women and children.
